The Norwegian Personal Identification Numbers (Fødselsnummere) are the main identification of a person in Norway. It is assigned by the norwegian government and is often used in official documentation. Neither the validation nor the extraction of the birth date is trivial, but require a bit of code to perform.
The first six digits are the birth date (DDMMYY) and the last five digits are the Person Number (Personummer). The century is 1800, 1900 or 2000 depending on the following three digits. The last two digits are control digits.
